The original incarnation of Woody’s goes back to 1972 when the company operated as Taylor & Wood Motorcycles in Gorokan, where they were the Central Coast distributors of Triumph and Suzuki motorcycles.
In 1976, the business moved to Tuggerah and took up residence in the old Ron Fordham motorbike business before moving to the current, purpose-built premises in 1978 where it became Woody’s Motorcycles – primary Honda dealer for Wyong and the north end of the Central Coast.
Over the 34 years that Woody’s has been around, many innovations have taken place. The foremost of these is the development and manufacture of the WMV Motorcycle – a modified Honda 250 motocross bike adapted for road registration and detuned for more usability. Woody’s produced numerous quantities of these bikes until Honda themselves started making similar bikes of their own to suit the Australian motorbike market. To this day, Woody’s Motorcycles still gets enquiries about the technical specifications of these bikes.
Collectively, the staff here Woody’s have over 123 years of motorcycle knowledge. All of the eight highly dedicated and enthusiastic motorcycle experts understand the products, the services and the bike industry from top to bottom.
Woody’s Motorcycles is proud to sponsor two of the hottest young riders on the competitive circuit today. Dylan Rose is a 13 year old MX, SX and Enduro rider who has enough trophies to fill a room, and Paul Worth is the current holder of the Queensland MX Title who rides a Honda TRX450. Make sure you bookmark this website as more in-depth profiles and news updates for both of the Woody’s Motorcycles sponsored riders.
